About the journal

The Matthias Lang journal follows photographs from the choice of light and camera position to editing, archiving and printing.

The journal is organised around decisions that can be explored with a camera, a phone or an existing collection of images. Some articles concern equipment; others need no purchase at all, such as selecting a sequence or writing an archive note.

Two editions, the same subjects

Every article is available in German and English. The language links at the top of a page open its corresponding edition. The subjects include light and exposure, camera accessories, photographing outside, photo organisation, editing and printed presentation.

What this website provides

This is an editorial website. It does not offer commissioned photography, equipment repairs, downloadable presets, file storage or printing services. Example situations explain a method; they do not imply that a product has been tested by the publisher.
